October 17: Vancouver Votes
Vancouver’s municipal election takes place on October 17, 2026. The next Council will make important decisions about housing, neighbourhood planning, and the future direction of the city.
Where Do the Candidates Stand?
Smart Density Vancouver will be reaching out to council candidates to learn where they stand on the issues affecting Vancouver’s neighbourhoods.
Candidate responses will be published here so residents can compare their positions before voting.
Although the Villages Plan was rejected by the current Council,
similar proposals could return after the election depending on the
direction of the next Council.
